This difficult side-scroller originated from the 2011 mobile game Jetpack Joyride. I played Jetpack Joyride a lot as a kid and I always admired how good it felt to play. After redownloading the game several years later, it felt slow compared to the memory I had lying in my head, and so Jetpack Joyride Extreme was made.
